Dear dancers,

Every new year brings new hopes. Unfortunately this one is not starting in the best way as the first events of 2021 need to be cancelled due to the current situation and for safety reasons.

These events are currently cancelled:

  • Baltic Country Western Dance Championships
  • Berlin Open

Let's keep our fingers crossed for the following events. We are all hoping that we will be able to meet on the dance floors again very soon.

Stay safe and take care our yourselves.

Dear dancer,

As we approach the end of the current year, we know that some of you may be concerned about your graduation points during this situation. We appreciate your concerns, but let us reassure you that we have considered this issue and have the following contingency in place.

As no-one knows when the situation will end, we are unable to give you an exact date when this will change. However, we will ensure that no-one is at a disadvantage because of this terrible virus.
  • Until further notice, all eligibility points towards your graduation will be frozen.
  • Until further notice, all points for Rising Star graduations will be frozen.
  • Until further notice, all new star eligibility to 'earn their title' will be frozen.

What does this mean for you?
1. If you are an intermediate or advanced dance, your eligibility points from 2018 and 2019 will continue until further notice.
2. If you are a rising star, your eligibility points from 2018 and 2019 will continue until further notice.
3. If you are a new star who has not yet earned their title in 2019/2020, your eligibility will continue until further notice.
4. If you competed in the Baltic 2020, your points will continue until further notice.

We feel this is the best solution for everyone concerned. As soon as we can give you any further update we will notify you immediately.

It may be we have a staggered restart to our competitions. This could cause additional issues in the future. Only time will tell!

We hope you and your loved ones are all staying safe and healthy and we look forward to seeing you in the future.

Looking forward to seeing you on a WCDF dance floor again.

With best regards,

The WorldCDF Rules Board

Hello Linedancers,

We hope and wish you well! As you well know, this pandemic has broken all the competition plans for 2020 ... For this reason, in Spain we have decided to organize a national online competition.

As you might know, the Spaniards of the FEBD (Spanish Federation of Sports Dance) follow the same dance circuit as the WCDF, and for this reason our competition will be Open

The competition will be online on November 28 and there will be two dances per division, we only have from Newcomer to Advanced

The competition is not scoring for the WCDF Ranking, but we would like very much to see you dance in our Spanish competition.

If you are interested in participating, get in touch with any of the Spanish competitors and we will inform you how to do it.

All the current WCDF dances are in use.

Newcomer : Night Club & Novelty

Novice : Lilt & Novelty

Intermediate : Cuban & Novelty

Advanced : Smooth & Funky

Dear dancers,

2020 has been a difficult year for everyone around the world and many sportive events have been cancelled or postponed.

The WorldCDF Management Team has been closely monitoring the situation in each region and has been waiting until the latest possible moment to determine if Worlds XV could be held in a safe environment.

In the light of the current situation with a second wave of the pandemic at our doors, we believe that we cannot hold Worlds in safe conditions for our dancers, staff and friends. We have no other choice than to cancel Worlds XV that was to be held in December in Kalkar, Germany.

The decision was not easy to take but we hope that you understand that your safety is very important for us.

We hope that 2021 will once again allow us to start dancing all together on the dance floors around the World and meet in safe conditions. For now we are planning and anticipating to hold our Worlds XV from 26 – 31 December 2021 in Kalkar, Germany.

Herman Falkenberg,
President Worldcdf
