Tuesday 11 May 2021

Hello Linedancers,

We hope and wish you well! As you well know, this pandemic has broken all the competition plans for 2020 ... For this reason, in Spain we have decided to organize a national online competition.

As you might know, the Spaniards of the FEBD (Spanish Federation of Sports Dance) follow the same dance circuit as the WCDF, and for this reason our competition will be Open

The competition will be online on November 28 and there will be two dances per division, we only have from Newcomer to Advanced

The competition is not scoring for the WCDF Ranking, but we would like very much to see you dance in our Spanish competition.

If you are interested in participating, get in touch with any of the Spanish competitors and we will inform you how to do it.

All the current WCDF dances are in use.

Newcomer : Night Club & Novelty

Novice : Lilt & Novelty

Intermediate : Cuban & Novelty

Advanced : Smooth & Funky

Dear dancers,

2020 has been a difficult year for everyone around the world and many sportive events have been cancelled or postponed.

The WorldCDF Management Team has been closely monitoring the situation in each region and has been waiting until the latest possible moment to determine if Worlds XV could be held in a safe environment.

In the light of the current situation with a second wave of the pandemic at our doors, we believe that we cannot hold Worlds in safe conditions for our dancers, staff and friends. We have no other choice than to cancel Worlds XV that was to be held in December in Kalkar, Germany.

The decision was not easy to take but we hope that you understand that your safety is very important for us.

We hope that 2021 will once again allow us to start dancing all together on the dance floors around the World and meet in safe conditions. For now we are planning and anticipating to hold our Worlds XV from 26 – 31 December 2021 in Kalkar, Germany.

Herman Falkenberg,
President Worldcdf

Dear dancers, dear friends and family

Due to the current COVID-19 situation we had to decided to cancel the Swiss Open 2020.

Although we have not yet received a ban on events in Switzerland, we can only roughly imagine the regulations. We would probably not be able to comply with them and we do not want to expose anyone to the risk of infection.

Apart from that, we have made the decision mainly based on the following rules and regulations.

  • Current uncertainty of the further extent of the crisis
  • In Switzerland, all people over 65 are considered to be at risk - we do not want to hold a Swiss Open without our Gold division and some of our true friends and Judges
  • June 15th, 2020 our Borders will open to France, Austria and Germany. The border to our Italian dance family is still not planned.
  • The social distancing to practise in ProAm and Couple is still an problem.
  • The dancers staging area would be a problem too.

We deeply regret that we cannot celebrate our 30th anniversary as well as the 10th anniversary of Gaby Genner and Annalise Gross as event directors with you, BUT we will make up for it!

All regsitered dancers will receive an email with more information.

2021 will be the year of the big party and we are already looking forward to you.

The Swiss Open 2021 will start September 3th - 5th. Please put this in your calendar! We like to celebrate with you and welcome you in Switzerland.

Please stay healthy, take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Your Swiss OK Team

Annalise Gross, Jenny Genner, Yvonne Frei-Buchler und Gaby Genner
