One of the responsibilities of the WorldCDF Rules Board is to develop the competition rules we use throughout the year. The Rules Board will only change rules during the year if it is for the benefit of the dancers. If it is a disadvantage for the dancers, we will wait untll the next dance year.

It is very important that every dancer is aware of the changes made to the divisions in which they dance. Should you find a rule which you are unsure of, please contact the Rules Board on: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

The 2020 Rules Book (14/01/2020) is now available.

For dancers in "Top" divisions in other organisations:

Dancers in the 'Top' division in another organisation may now request to cross-over into the advanced division by contacting the rules board via email. They must provide the following information with their request:

  • The name of the organisation where they won the title
  • Proof of their qualification and the date it was achieved
  • The dates of three (3) events where they have competed a full programme in this top division
Only once these have been confirmed will the rules board grant entry into the advanced division.

Choreographers who wish to enter a dance during a WorldCDF event are encouraged to download the "Stepsheet Template" below and send it in with their registration.

You already know the rules book states everything that is required from a choreographer.
At this year's World Championship, all choreographies which do not include ALL of the items mentioned in the rules 'will get a penalty'. It is always advisable to use the Mock Step Sheet on the WorldCDF website as it contains all obaf the points required.

With their contestant registration, it is mandatory for Choreographers to provide a printed step description of the dance detailing:

  • The step sheet MUST be written in English.
  • The details which must be included on the step sheet can be found on the mock sheet on the WorldCDF Website.
  • The basic pattern
  • The level of the dance
  • The number of counts
  • The number of walls
  • The motion of the dance
  • An ABC choreographer must provide a copy of their choreography with their entry form. This will be copied and issued to the judges to show the dance sequence.
  • A Tag dance entry should specify the location of the tag(s) within the music.
  • The step description should be uploaded in Word or PDF format using the link found in your registration email. Stepsheets sent in by email will not be accepted.
