Dear dancers, dear friends and family

Due to the current COVID-19 situation we had to decided to cancel the Swiss Open 2020.

Although we have not yet received a ban on events in Switzerland, we can only roughly imagine the regulations. We would probably not be able to comply with them and we do not want to expose anyone to the risk of infection.

Apart from that, we have made the decision mainly based on the following rules and regulations.

  • Current uncertainty of the further extent of the crisis
  • In Switzerland, all people over 65 are considered to be at risk - we do not want to hold a Swiss Open without our Gold division and some of our true friends and Judges
  • June 15th, 2020 our Borders will open to France, Austria and Germany. The border to our Italian dance family is still not planned.
  • The social distancing to practise in ProAm and Couple is still an problem.
  • The dancers staging area would be a problem too.

We deeply regret that we cannot celebrate our 30th anniversary as well as the 10th anniversary of Gaby Genner and Annalise Gross as event directors with you, BUT we will make up for it!

All regsitered dancers will receive an email with more information.

2021 will be the year of the big party and we are already looking forward to you.

The Swiss Open 2021 will start September 3th - 5th. Please put this in your calendar! We like to celebrate with you and welcome you in Switzerland.

Please stay healthy, take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Your Swiss OK Team

Annalise Gross, Jenny Genner, Yvonne Frei-Buchler und Gaby Genner

Dear Dancers & Guests

In this difficult time with the Covid-19 virus with the social distancing regulations given by the Austrian government for indoor events regarding dance floor, hotel rooms, restaurant and rest rooms we will not be able to guarantee the health of our judges, competitors, dancers and staff at the Austrian Championships 2020.

We will not be able to host the ACWDC 2020 as we used to do it for the last couple of years.

So we have decided to cancel the ACWDC 2020 which should have taken place from 2nd to 4th October 2020.

We are ready to refund registrations within the next weeks to all who have already paid.

For any flights or additional travel arrangements, you should contact your operator or travel insurance policy to discuss refund eligibility.

For hotel bookings, please work directly with your hotel provider.

We are already planning the ACWDC 2021 which will take place from 1st to 3rd of October 2021 and looking forward to meet you then.

We are truly devastated and thank you for your understanding and support.

Gratefully yours

your ACWDC Team
