European Charter

The WorldCDF and the FFCLD (Federation Francophone de Country Line Dance) share a mutual « European » goal aimed to promote Country dancing in the European Community.

In March 2011, Mr Herman Falkenberg, President of the WorldCDF and Mr Gérard Simoncello, President of  the FFCLD came together in Issoudun to sign a letter of intent between the two federations to plan and to promote Social Education in France. In December 2011, together with representatives of other parties, the WorldCDF, the FFCLD and Handi Line, the association dedicated to the promotion of and training in Country and Line Dance for disabled people signed the European Charter for Country & Line dance at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
The fundamental principles of the European Union: Dignity - Liberty -Equality - Solidarity - Citizenship and Justice are the base of this charter.

The charter is aimed at young people who will become tomorrow's participants and future managers of this activity. As a consequence, it is aimed directly at the organisations, adults, volunteers, trainers and managers who have a direct or indirect influence on these young people.

Finally, the Charter should serve as a basis and foundation for the prospective construction of a European Federation of Country and Line Dance.

The European Charter can be viewed and downloaded here.
